1. Information we collect
- Email list: the email address you submit, subscription or unsubscribe status, signup and preference-change dates, and records of your opt-in. Our current signup form does not require a name. Older records or contact lists imported by authorized staff may also contain a name and information about the source and date of signup.
- Email delivery: newsletters sent to an address, message snapshots, send times, and delivery results or errors reported by our sending system. Permanent address failures may mark an address undeliverable and stop future newsletters; our system also reads delivery-failure notices in the outgoing mailbox to match failures to prior messages. A “sent” record means the mail server accepted a message; it does not confirm that you opened it.
- Inquiries: contact details and the message you choose to send us. The website contact form opens your email application with a prepared message. Completing the form alone does not submit that message to our website server; you must send it through your email application.
- Technical and security information: our web servers and security providers may record IP addresses, requested pages, browser information, referring pages, timestamps, and errors. Our signup forms use an IP-derived identifier to limit repeated requests and a security check to reduce abuse.
- Staff accounts: authorized administrator accounts have usernames, password hashes, permissions, login-security records, and activity logs. Public visitors do not need an account to browse or manage newsletter preferences.
Please do not send payment-card details, passwords, or other sensitive information through a general website inquiry.
2. How information is used
We use information to provide the website, respond to questions, send requested Battery Giant updates, honor unsubscribe requests, maintain delivery records, protect the website from abuse, and troubleshoot problems. Access to subscriber records and administrative features is restricted by staff permissions.
The website application does not include advertising pixels or mechanisms to sell access to the subscriber list. Our newsletter software does not add open-tracking pixels or click-tracking redirects. Technical logs and third-party services may still process requests when you browse a page, follow a link, or load an email image.
3. Email signup and unsubscribe
Submitting the email signup form subscribes your address immediately; there is no separate confirmation email required. Newsletters may include store news, product information, practical tips, and offers.
You can stop future newsletters using the unsubscribe link in an email or the unsubscribe page. No login is required. An email already handed to the sending service may still arrive after you unsubscribe.
Unsubscribing changes your mailing preference rather than automatically erasing every record. Your address, unsubscribe status, and past delivery or consent records may remain stored so we can honor that preference and maintain sending history. You may contact us separately about deleting information.
4. Services and third-party content
Information is processed by the services needed to operate the site, including website hosting, Cloudflare security and network services, and our email hosting and delivery provider. Email delivery involves your address and message content passing through mail servers and your own email provider. Services may process information outside your state or country.
- Cloudflare and Turnstile: Cloudflare helps protect and deliver the website. Turnstile checks on signup, unsubscribe, and staff login forms process browser and device signals to help distinguish legitimate requests from abuse. For imported contact lists, domain-only DNS lookups may be sent to Cloudflare to check whether a domain advertises mail service. The full email address is not included in these lookups. This does not verify an individual mailbox or send it a message. Read Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy for its practices.
- Google services: some pages load Google Fonts, and the contact page embeds Google Maps. Your browser connects to Google when these resources load, which can disclose technical information such as an IP address. Google Maps may use cookies or other identifiers according to your settings and Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Other external resources: icons may load from cdnjs. Links to social networks, manufacturers, maps, and product resources take you to services with their own privacy practices. Loading a third-party resource can share technical request information with its provider.
Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, address fraud or abuse, or protect rights and safety.
5. Cookies and browser storage
The staff administration area uses a session cookie for sign-in and browser storage to remember the selected light or dark theme. Cloudflare, embedded maps, and other third-party services may use cookies or similar technologies as described in their notices. You can manage cookies and site storage in your browser; blocking required security features may prevent forms or staff sign-in from working.
6. Storage, retention, and security
Subscriber, consent, delivery, and staff records are held in our website database. Website backups and email-provider records may contain additional copies. We use measures such as HTTPS, restricted administrative access, password hashing for staff accounts, and authenticated encrypted connections to our outgoing email server. No transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Contact-list uploads staged for background import checks are available privately to the uploading staff account for up to seven days. Staged addresses are cleared when that upload is confirmed or discarded; imported subscriber records follow the retention practices below.
Retention depends on the purpose of a record, unsubscribe preferences, operational and security needs, backups, and applicable obligations. Subscriber and delivery records are not automatically erased when you unsubscribe, and there is no single automatic deletion period for all records. If information is removed from active systems, older backup copies may remain until those backups are replaced or deleted.
7. Your choices and privacy requests
You may unsubscribe at any time, choose what to include in an inquiry, and manage browser privacy settings. You may also contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with you. Depending on where you live and which laws apply, additional privacy rights may be available.
To protect your information, we may need to verify a request. We will consider applicable requirements and any need to retain records for security, legal obligations, or honoring an unsubscribe preference. Please contact us if you have questions about a response to your request.
8. Children
This website and mailing list are intended for a general adult audience and are not directed to children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information can contact us to request its removal.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our website or practices change. The effective date above identifies the latest version. Any additional notice required by applicable law will be provided as appropriate.
